Extracting 2 front teeth with dental implants? I am 17 years old and I have an over jet (front two teeth protrude - buck teeth if you will). I saw my orthodontist today as I was thinking about getting braces to fix it but was told that I'm to0 old for them. Do dental implants hurt or feel like normal teeth? I have a highly aggressive form of gum disease and corresponding bone loss. I am 30 years old and have been flossing and brushing like a machine for the past 15 years to no avail other than stopping any cavities from forming. I have 5 perio cleanings per year, I had pocket reduction surgery, and I don't smoke or drink soda. I even take a calcium supplement and use listerine and a tongue cleaner. So just assuming I have some genetic weakness that will lead to full tooth loss in say 10 years, what has your experience been with dental implants? In pictures they actually look as good as real teeth to me, but I want someone to explain the day to day maintenance difference and feel of normal teeth. Where can I get free or affordable dental work (long story)? I am twenty years old and unfortunately, have never been to a dentist. My parents could not afford dental insurance and sadly, my teeth have suffered. I was never taught proper dental care (I didn't know you were supposed to floss daily) and only brushed once in the morning. My two front teeth have a cavity between them, so large that it has created a very ugly, uneven gap. The two lateral incisors have basically almost completely rotted away and there are cavities forming in the incisors next to those as well. Two molars in the back have completely rotted, leaving only large brown holes in my gums. The saddest part about this is that I was voted "Best Smile" in elementary school. : [ What's even worse is that my wisdom teeth are about to come in. I can feel it. I have done much research on the procedures that I will need done. For example, I know I will need extractions on my four front teeth, a root canal on two of my molars, fillings in probably 8 teeth, crowns on a few others, and I would like to get implants in the four teeth that are extracted. All of this, based on my research, would cost $20,000 or more. I did the calculations to be safe. I have CareSource but they do not cover more than two dentist appointments a year unless you have a certain condition and they stop covering cosmetic procedures after you turn 21 (I'm not sure as to why, it's all pretty messed up). Dental Implants - Quick questions.? Firstly I should say that I am only twenty-three years old and due to an accident I am now missing three teeth including my two front teeth. On to the questions: For the procedure do they just numb your gums or do they actually "put you out" with the gas so to speak? If not can you have the gas as an alternative? Once the implants are in place, can you feel them in there or don't you notice at all and once it is all complete do the replacement teeth actually feel like your "own"? Metal free dental bridges/crown? I need information on whether the metal free crowns and bridges really exist and work for back molars? I left one dentist who was going to do them however they called one hour before my appointment and raised the fee $200 per tooth,needless to say I left the practice after several years of patronage. Now I'm at a practice with two older dentists who refuse to do the composite crowns/bridges until I have metal allergy tests because they don't think I need metal free - vanity aside - and allergy possibility aside (I did have a nasty infection under a crown and my previous dentist speculated it may have been from the metal because of symptoms that led up to the whole mess) I have one composite crown and like the way it looks and as a consumer that would be my preference rather than the dark metal at gumline. One of the current dentists made a comment about why should I be concerned that the crown be as white as possible because "it's in the back" when I asked him to match my other teeth as closely as possible as I do bleach when needed, but not excessively. Which Dental Implant to go for? Hi, I had an extraction in the year 2000 and a bridge was used to cover the gap. Last month the bridge broke and dentist recommends a dental implant. He has told that there are two types of dental implants available, one that is quite cheap and the other pretty expensive. The material and quality of both is same. The only difference is that the cheap one would not be replaced by the compnay if it gets rejected, but the expensive one would be replaced free of cost if the rejection happens within three years. So the decision point seems to be the risk of rejection. So, my question here is, what is the rate and risk of rejection of a dental implant and also would appreciate feedback from someone who may have undergone the procedure on the experience during and since the implant. I hope to get information here that should help me decide if at all i should go in for this procedure and if yes, then which of the two options offered would work for me.

The site used to drill for my dental implant began to bleed last night, risk? It was a small amount of blood which only lasted about a minute or two. This is about 2 months after the implant was placed. Should I be concerned enough to go back? I was also told by another implantee to expect a jolt of pain about 1.5 months after the implant... I have not experienced any pain. Is this any indication that it is not fusing?

I have a dental implant that is causing me a lot of pain? The Oral Surgeons I saw said it is to close to the nerve. They are afraid to remove it as it could cause more nerve damage. How often do you see your dentist? And do you have dental insurance? I go every 8 months or so. I pay an extra 10 dollars a month for dental under my Medicare policy but it really doesn't cover much. I don't have dentures, but have had a couple root canals, a few crowns, and 1 implant. Years ago, my work insurance covered all dental, but as time went by, the benefits became less and less. I broke a tooth about 10 years ago, eating a piece of hard candy, so I avoid that now. But I still eat nuts. That piece of candy ended up costing me about 800 dollars.
